Dr. Dt. Tolga Gulcicek (DDS, PHD)
(SPECIALIST in ORAL & MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY and IMPLANTOLOGY)
Born in Ankara in 1977. He studied five years in Gazi University Dentistry Faculty and finished his university education in year 2000 as the fourth succesfull student. Same year he started his PhD in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department at the same university. After his eight months Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Anesthesiology and Reanimation and Otorhinolaryngology education in Gazi University Medical Faculty, he continued his studies for six months in London. In year 2005 he continued his studies in USA at University of Michigan Hospital and C.S Mott Children Hospital by specializing on advanced implantology surgery, trauma surgery, orthognathic surgery and advanced aesthetic dentistry. In year 2006 he qualified to be a Doctor after finishing his PhD.
Work Experience
* 1995-2000 Gazi University Dentistry Faculty.
* 2000-2006 He made PhD on Oral and Maxillofacial surgery becoming an expert on all mouth related surgeries, implantology and orthognathic surgery.
* 2002 He continued his studies for six months in London.
* 2003-2004 He worked as a part-time oral surgeon in Demet Hospital.
* 2005 He continued his PhD studies by attending many advanced implantology, orthognathic and trauma surgeries and advanced aestehetic dentistry in University of Michigan and C.S Mott Children Hospital.
Who is an Maxillofacial Surgeon?
After a five year dentistry education in the university, maxillofacial surgeon candidates start their six years PhD studies. During these 6 years of PhD study they attend to
many surgeries and rotations including plastic surgery, anesthesiology, reanimation and general surgery. At the end of these 6 years they become a specialist in surgery,
implant surgery, impacted teeth and traumatology surgeries.
Dr. Dt. Gözdem BAYRAKTAR
(Periodontology – Gum Diseases and Surgery)
Born on January 10, 1990, in Trabzon. She graduated from Kanuni Anatolian High School in 2008.
In the same year, she started her studies at Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry and graduated in 2013. She is currently specializing in Periodontology (Gum Diseases) at Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry.
In addition to treatment and aesthetic procedures, she is also actively involved in teeth whitening treatments at the Istanbul Implantology Center. She is a member of the Turkish Dental Association (TDB) and is fluent in English.
She works in our clinic as a periodontology specialist, diagnosing and treating a wide range of common gum diseases, including inflammatory gum diseases that can lead to tooth loss, acute gum conditions, gum enlargements, and gum recessions.
Dr. Dt. Eda AKÜN
(Prosthodontics and Aesthetic Dentistry Specialist)
After graduating from the Faculty of Dentistry at Ankara University, Dr. Eda Akün pursued a doctoral degree in Prosthetic Dentistry at the same faculty. She completed her education in 2008 and received the title of Prosthodontics Specialist. Since the establishment of our clinic, she has been working as a specialist in aesthetic dentistry and prosthodontics. She has attended numerous congresses and seminars both nationally and internationally. In our clinic, she focuses exclusively on her area of expertise, aesthetic and restorative dentistry. She has extensive experience, especially in implant-supported porcelain and hybrid prostheses, as well as advanced aesthetic treatments like composite and porcelain veneers.
Dr. Dt. Hazal ABAT
(Endodontics - Root Canal Treatment Specialist)
Vahide Hazal Abat was born on October 8, 1991, in Istanbul.
She graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at Marmara University in 2014. In the same year, she was accepted into the PhD program at Yeditepe University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Endodontics. From 2014 to 2015, she worked as a dentist at Medical Park Hospital.
In 2018, she completed her PhD in Endodontics with honors and earned her doctoral title in the field of Endodontics with her dissertation on root canal activation techniques. Between 2017 and 2019, she worked as an Endodontics specialist at Acıbadem Hospitals Group. In 2021, 2022, and 2023, she published research in international and national peer-reviewed journals. In June 2022, she was awarded the 'Best Oral Presentation' at the International Yudsa Congress.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem Özer Yücel
(Periodontology and Surgery Specialist)
Born on April 12, 1978, in Ankara, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem Özer Yücel graduated from Çankaya National Lottery Anatolian High School in 1995. In 2000, she earned her "Master’s" degree from the Faculty of Dentistry at Gazi University in Ankara.
Between 2001-2007, she completed her doctoral thesis at Hacettepe University, Department of Periodontology, titled “Determination of Interleukin-1 Beta (IL-1β) and Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha (TNF-α) Gene Polymorphisms and Gingival Crevicular Fluid Levels in Individuals with Advanced Periodontal Destruction.” She was awarded a Ph.D. degree.
She has made numerous scientific presentations and poster sessions at national and international congresses. She is a member of the Turkish Society of Periodontology.
She is proficient in English and continues her academic work at the Department of Oral Pathology, Faculty of Dentistry, Gazi University.
